National Science Education Standards

Creating a booklet addressing one current environmental issue for the public to be better able to decide how to vote on any given issue is the Scenario in this chapter. As students explore diversity in living things, dependence of the organisms on one another, the factors that affect population size, competition among organisms, succession, the water cycle, the carbon and oxygen cycle and their role in the processes of photosynthesis and respiration, and nitrogen
and phosphorous cycle, they begin to develop the content understandings outlined below.
