Answers for the Teacher Only
What Do You Think? Inevitably, parents will not understand some teenage desires, interests, and motivations. Sometimes there is a bit of a language barrier, since each generation of young people seems to develop its own distinctive expressions. Even when teenagers communicate with each other, there can be misunderstandings. Perhaps one person speaks too softly, or without enough expression to communicate well. Perhaps another listens with preconceived ideas and understands only the anticipated meaning. If two people without a common language try to speak to each other, they may have to resort to gestures, and even then they may be able to communicate only the most simple ideas. |
