  1. In adding a second coil, keep track of which way the current flows in each coil. You will need to know if the current flows the same way in each coil or the opposite way. If it is the same way, adding the second coil reinforces the first. If it is the opposite, adding the second coil tends to cancel the first. If the number of turns in each coil is the same, the two may virtually cancel each other out.
