What Do You Think? The sending fax machine scans the picture with a light-sensitive device that responds to the amount of light reflected. The signal from this device is converted to a digital code and then to signals that are sent over telephone lines. The receiving fax machine converts these signals to electrical signals that create the image on paper. On most small faxes, the image is made on heat-sensitive paper that is heated locally by a current-carrying wire. |
