What Do You Think?

A camera, photocopier, and slide projector all make real images with a convex lens. The camera makes the image on the film. The slide projector, something like the opposite of the camera, uses a piece of slide film as the object and makes the image on a screen a substantial distance away. The photocopier makes an image that is, usually, the same size as the object.

In the camera, light from the object causes a chemical reaction on the film, and the film processing produces a negative or slide that is a representation of the field of view of the lens. In the photocopier, light from the original controls the application of the toner powder to the copy.
