Activity Overview

To learn how images are sent to Earth from space vehicles, the students construct an image with a pattern of pixels. They encode simple images into streams of ones and zeroes and recreate images from this kind of data. They contrast the image units in newspaper photos, on computer screens, and in modern telescopic images.
